If you are looking for a proper Colombian decaf coffee that can become your everyday brew, you have found it. Nat ur al ly the best, better than all the… well, we would say that.
Seriously, though, this is the kind of decaf coffee we wanted I LOVE DECAF to have as its dependable daily staple. Clean, fresh and rich with enough character to remind you why Colombian coffee has the reputation it does. It is smooth without becoming anonymous and full flavoured without shouting at you before breakfast.
Speciality Colombian decaf coffee from Huila
Naturally the Best comes from La SerranÃa in Huila, Colombia, where more than 50 independent smallholder coffee producers grow coffee high in the mountains.
The coffee brings together Caturra and Castillo Arabica beans, grown at approximately 1,500 to 1,750 metres above sea level. High altitude growing conditions help the coffee develop slowly, creating the depth, sweetness and balance expected from a quality Colombian speciality coffee.
It carries an SCA score of 85, putting the focus firmly on the coffee itself before anyone starts talking about the missing caffeine.
Because decaf should still be very good coffee.
Naturally decaffeinated using Colombian sugar cane
The caffeine is removed using the Natural EA sugar cane decaf process, one of Colombia’s best known methods of producing naturally processed decaffeinated coffee.
Ethyl acetate occurs naturally in fruits and other foods. For this process it is derived from Colombian sugar cane and combined with mountain water to selectively remove caffeine from the green coffee.
Around 99.7% of the caffeine is removed while preserving the compounds responsible for much of the coffee’s natural flavour and aroma.
The result is a naturally decaffeinated Colombian coffee that still tastes very much like coffee, which sounds obvious until you remember some of the decaf we have all been forced to drink.
An everyday decaf without the everyday disappointment
Some speciality coffees demand tasting notebooks, complicated brewing rituals and someone nearby describing the finish as reminiscent of a damp apricot orchard.
Naturally the Best is less needy.
It is the coffee you can put on first thing in the morning, make again after lunch and return to later because another cup seems like an entirely sensible idea.
There is enough richness and body to make a satisfying espresso while the natural sweetness and balance work equally well in longer coffees. Drink it black, add milk or make whatever elaborate coffee creation currently occupies half your kitchen worktop.
It can take it.
Rich without being loud about it. Smooth without being boring. Proper Colombian coffee with almost all the caffeine politely shown the door.
Just the way the British like things.

Why choose sugar cane decaf coffee?
The Colombian sugar cane process is particularly well suited to coffee grown in Colombia because the coffee can be decaffeinated relatively close to where it was grown. The process targets caffeine while retaining the flavour characteristics that made the beans worth drinking in the first place.
For us, this is the important bit.
Decaf should not taste like something has been taken away from it. Naturally the Best starts with 85 point speciality Colombian Arabica coffee and uses a decaffeination process designed to let the original coffee continue doing the talking.
No punishment. No sad substitute. Just very good Colombian decaf coffee you can drink whenever you fancy another cup.
